A postcard from Nepal: Himalaya sunrise
Annapurna range at sunrise
Viewed from Sarangkot near Pokhara
We got up at 4.45 to go and watch the sunrise over the Himalayas. A stiff climb from the parking area and rather busy with other people mad enough to get up at that time, but so so worth it!
Stunning! Definitely a moment worth an early rise.
It was indeed, I wouldn’t have wanted to miss this!

Surely worth the effort!
Totally! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Spectacular, Sarah! Well worth rising early to see.
Thank you 😊 It’s something I’ll remember for a long time so definitely worth it!
Wowza Sarah! Well worth the early rising – hope you went back to bed LOL. Love that you caught the plane too.
Gosh no! By the time we got back to the hotel it was breakfast time and after that we just got on with enjoying the day 😀 But we did have an early night!

Indeed worth it. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you like it!
What a photo! Well done! 🙂
Thank you 😊
What a stunner! Well worth the early rise and the stiff climb🙂
Thanks Christie – yes, I wouldn’t have wanted to miss this!
There is something so powerful in watching the sun rise over the rugged peaks of the mountains.
There is – although actually here it rises over the valley opposite the mountain range and what you see here is the light reflected back off the snow 😃
Thank you Nora 😀
Beautiful! Well worth the early rise….
It certainly was! Thanks Marie 😊
What an adventure. This photo, wow…!!
Thanks so much Amy 😀 I have more to share when I get home, needless to say!
Ok … if I thought your previous postcard was beautiful … then this one is magical!
Thank you – somehow don’t think I’m going to be able to beat this one!
I just read on the news about an earthquake in Nepal … I’m not sure where you are at the moment, but hope you’re safe and sound 💌.
We’re fine thanks. We did feel the tremor during the night but it wasn’t enough where we are (Bardia National Park) to cause any problems thankfully. I hadn’t realised it would have made the UK news!
It was so worth it. Beautiful image, Sarah!
Thank you John 😊

Yes, I wouldn’t have wanted to miss this!

Absolutely stunning, Sarah! I would get up early for that too!!
I’m sure many of us would 😃
Thanks Tanja 😊
Yes, absolutely worth it! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Thank you Anne, glad you liked it too 😊
What an absolutely fantastic sight!
It was pretty amazing!
Marvellous, a trip worth taking!
Not mad at all. Thanks for getting up so we didn’t have to.
Happy to oblige 😁
Sarah…..you seem to be having a great time in Nepal…..wonderful!!!
We are indeed – although less than a week to go now unfortunately 😒
It’s always worth the early start if you get a view like that! There’s also a strangely satisfying feeling about eating breakfast having already enjoyed the first big experience of the day.
That’s so true – and to be honest I don’t struggle too much getting up that early, fortunately!
One of those fill your heart with joy moments!
Absolutely – so very special!
Life...One Big Adventure
I was one of those mad people too and all I saw was fog! You did better than me. 🙂
Oh no, how disappointing! We did check the weather forecast before planning to go, but it’s always a lottery.
