‘A Swarm of Bees’, The British Bee Journal, and Bee Keeper’s Adviser, 1882
A swarm of bees indeed, and of course also a swarm of Bs. The letter B, the second letter of our alphabet, is one of the first a child learns to recognise. ‘A is for Apple, B is for …’
Yes, what objects do begin with a B? That’s the question posed by Beth for this week’s Lens Artists challenge. I love a letter challenge so had great fun trawling my archives for the following images. There are definitely some you may have seen here before but hopefully too some new ones. And yes, I’ve gone a bit overboard with the number of shots, but you wouldn’t believe how many things begin with a B!
My feature image is of a Tiger Longwing butterfly, taken in the butterfly dome in Selvatura Park in Costa Rica

Quite the gallery Sarah!!! Many favorites but rather than list them all I will say that the bee-eaters are spectacular and I’d never seen a badger so that was especially fun!

A fine selection: I’d expect no less from you Sarah. But the ones that have won me over are your beautiful bee-eaters. I’ll pass on the stomach drink, thanks.
