Greetings from Georgia
A view of Sighnaghi
The Georgian town of Signagi (also written Sighnaghi) sits on a hilltop in a position that reminded me of many Italian towns. It still has signifcant remnants of its 18th-century town wall and fortifications. Unsurprisingly, given its picturesque location and attractive buildings, we found the narrow, cobblestone streets busy with tour groups and lined with souvenir stalls. But seen from a distance like this it was easy to see its appeal. The church with its prominent bell tower is dedicated to St George and dates back to the 17th century.

Beautiful Sighnaghi. Did you like the wine??

We were only there for a couple of hours to break the drive to Tbilisi, so didn’t try the wine. But I’ve enjoyed the Georgian wines I’ve tried so far 😀
